Kim Kardashian’s successful company Kimprincess is facing a huge $100 million dollar lawsuit.

According to official court documents, the company is being accused of patent infringement in relation to her promotion and use of LuMee smartphone cases.

Kim Kardashian, 36, is often seen using the product on her various and wildly popular social media sites as well on her hit reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The cell phone case in question is outfitted with a built-in light that is designed to give users perfect lighting when they snap a selfie.

In a post Kim shared on April 14, 2016, she boasted that she owned the patent to the lighted case and encouraged her followers to purchase the case from her company Lumee.com. However, documents show that Hooshmand Harooni obtained a patent in 2013 for lighted mobile phone devices and licensed the product to SnapLight LLC. On July 31 of this year, Harooni and SnapLight filed the lawsuit against Kim’s company Urban Outfitters.

Snaplight claims that Kim Kardashian’s use of the illuminated smartphone case has caused their company to lose money. Harooni and SnapLight have asked the court to stop Kim from doing any further promotion for LuMee cases and are seeking to be awarded $100 million in damages from the court.

A Kim Kardashian’s spokesperson said that the SnapLight lawsuit is a baseless shakedown for money and said that Kim did not do anything wrong. The spokesperson also said that LuMee is an innovator of lighted smartphone cases and was the first to get the product on the market.

Kardashian’s spokesperson also revealed that LuMee has accused ShapLight of patent infringement. As of now, it is unclear how either lawsuit will turn out, but it appears that there is no immediate resolution. SnapLight and Urban Outfitters are both confident that they will win their case.
