A man, who police said has been stalking English actress, Kate Beckinsale since 2016, was arrested Saturday.
Terry Lee Repp, 45, from Moravia, Iowa, is being held at the Hillsborough County Jail. The judge upgraded his charge to an aggravated stalking, which is a felony. He is being held on a $5,000 bond, according to Fox News.
Police say that Repp was following Beckinsale around the U.S. in an attempt to make contact. In 2016, outside of a convention center in Salt Lake City in Utah, Repp reportedly made contact with Beckinsale by touching her back. According to an ABC news report, he also made a comment about stabbing her.
The episodes didn’t stop there, according to multiple media reports, Repp followed Beckinsale again, but this time in Houston. Beckinsale was slated to appear at an event. Authorities at the event were apparently ready and waiting for the man and arrested him there.
This Saturday, Beckinsale had to postpone her appearance at the event, as she filed paperwork once Repp was arrested for the stalking charge.
The arrest has clearly affected Beckinsale, as she made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show on Tuesday night, and according to Daily Mail, she made a quick exit not willing to take any chances by staying around and signing autographs for fans.
Cops told TMZ reporters, that Repp suffers from “irrational obsessions,” with the English born actress.
