According to the extremely funny and Emmy winning actress Debra Messing, 48, President Trump and Hillary Clinton are responsible for the highly anticipated upcoming return of Will & Grace.
While at the Television Critics Association press tour held in Beverly Hills, Messing said that if that election had not occurred with those candidates, the popular NBC sitcom would not be coming back.
In September of 2016, the original cast members Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally, Sean Hayes along with Debra Messing reunited to create a short video that was released hours before the first presidential debate between Clinton and Trump.
When the actors did the video, they collectively realized there was a special chemistry between them and felt it was time to work together again. The result of them coming together and that the video was so well received led to the upcoming reboot of Will & Grace that is set to premiere in the fall.
Recently, NBC announced that it has already been decided to bring the show back for a 13-episode second season. Messing said the announcement of a second season was a complete surprise.
Jokingly, Debra told TCA that she thought they would all work together again when they were all in their 70’s to do a Golden Girls type Will & Grace but never thought they would be working together now.
Messing beamed that she is highly excited to be getting back together with her funny Will & Grace cast members and says they are all truly like brothers and sisters. She also revealed that they find it hard to keep their hands off one another and that they love making each another laugh.
Debra also said that the laughter shared between them is what she is most looking forward to when the cast reunites. Fans will be happy to know that Will & Grace will debut on Thursday September 28 at 9 PM on NBC.
